The 2022 Lost Lake Writers Retreat will be held October 6 - 9, 2022, at the Lost Lake Woods Club lodge just north of Lincoln, MI, on Michigan's Sunrise Coast near Lake Huron. Scroll down past the instructor bios to see the schedule of events.
Author-instructors for the event will be active, experienced teachers with multiple published works to their credit, as in previous years. Returning are three of our most popular past teachers: novelist Michael Zadoorian, poet Leila Chatti, and poet and short-story writer Kelly Fordon. New for 2022 is songwriter Julianne Ankley.

Kelly Fordon's 2020 short-story collection, "I Have the Answer," follows her suburban characters as they struggle to continue living — and figure out why — after life's trials strike hard. Her "Goodbye Toothless House" poetry collection drew this review: "With their close calls and fatal choices, Kelly Fordon’s unsparing poems will make you catch your breath." Kelly also conducts a podcast, "Let's Deconstruct a Story," featuring interviews with authors.

Songwriter Julianne Ankley's soulful country style hails from a small Michigan border town close to both the shore of Lake Huron and the musical influences of Detroit. She tours the nation and has won 14 Detroit Music Awards, including multiple wins as Country Artist of the Year. Her latest album, "With Love from Lake Huron," came out in 2021.
