Dorianne Laux returns to the Lost Lake Writers Retreat after three years off. Her newest book, "Only as the Day is Long," was published last spring.
Her recent collaboration with her poet husband, Joseph Millar, "Duet," interweaves their poems without separate attribution. Dorianne’s fifth collection, "The Book of Men," won the Paterson Prize. Her fourth, "Facts About the Moon," won the Oregon Book Award and was short-listed for the Lenore Marshall Poetry Prize. Her previous books include "Awake," "What We Carry," "Smoke" and the chapbook "The Book of Women." She also co-authored the guidebook "The Poet's Companion: A Guide to the Pleasures of Writing Poetry." Dorianne Laux teaches creative writing at North Carolina State University and in Pacific University's Low Residency MFA Program. She also maintains a busy schedule of workshops and seminars all across the nation. |
