Will St. John, left, a 22-year editor at the Detroit Free Press, leads this group of local and aspiring writers in a friendly, supportive workshop series.
Meetings are held the first and third Saturdays of most months, with some holiday exceptions and summer months off. The Harrisville branch of the Alcona County Library hosts this group at 10:30 a.m. on meeting days. Three of the participants have published books done with the help of this program. Others are still working on novels, short stories, poems and self-help books. The price for for each six-week session of this class is $25, which the library collects. Prospective participants are welcome to drop in to one session free to test the waters. No sign-up is necessary for that. |
