Begins in September 2022
Students will learn the basics of songwriting in a special after-school class using plastic tubes to make music. The instruments, called boomwhackers, boom out a single note when whacked on the floor, just like handbells when shaken.
The class is a collaboration between Michigan 4-H, Inspiration Alcona, Alcona Community Schools, the Michigan State University College of Music and the MSU College of Arts and Letters. It is one of six such experimental classes being held for the first time.
