2019 Lost Lake Writers Retreat

October 10 - 13, 2019
Lost Lake Woods Club

The lodge at Lost Lake Woods Club overlooks a small lake bordered by forest.
The skies rained on photo day, so the group photo was made inside the lodge.
Jacquelyn Mitchard's talk was titled "Finish the Book."
Detroit singer-songwriter not only lectured but demonstrated her writing techniques.
Writers gathered for each lecture.

The 2019 Lost Lake Writers Retreat will be directed by John D. Lamb of Springfed Arts, another 501(c)3 nonprofit that has held weekly writing classes in the metro Detroit area for more than two decades. Teachers are poets Dorianne Laux and Robert Fanning, novelists Irina Reyn and Michael Zadoorian, and singer-songwriter Allison Downey. Click on the buttons below the tentative schedule to learn more about each instructor.

The  retreat will begin with an appetizers, wine and beer party at 8 p.m. Thursday, October 10. Friday and Saturday will be learning and writing time. Sunday we'll all gather for a farewell brunch, followed by a final reading by participants. Your tuition includes all of these. By midafternoon Sunday, students will be able to head for home. See the schedule below for details of the weekend.

Participant options run from tuition only to a package that includes a private room, breakfast and lunch Friday and Saturday, and all the retreat events. Check prices through the How to Enroll page button below.
