Charles Pompilius, second from left in the large photo, taught a portraits class.
Jewelry teacher Colleen Wilson, third from the left in the large photo, was back by popular demand.
Laura Whitesides Host, right in the large photo, taught a water media class including metal leaf application.
At the hayride on Friday night, students who weren't tired out yet visited the horse stable at Lost Lake Woods.
After a final session Sunday morning, the whole group had a cookout lunch in the pavilion at Badger Lake.
The fifth annual Alcona Arts Retreat featured four prominent Michigan artists with lots of experience in both selling their own work and teaching others. Students ranged from those coming for the first time to veterans of four previous retreats.
