Michigan Novelist and Poet
Once upon a time, Kelly Fordon worked for WDET, the National Public Radio station in Detroit, and for National Geographic.
Her first novel, "Garden for the Blind," is woven from individual stories that link together. The 2015 book is a Michigan Notable Book from the Wayne State University Press and has won or been a finalist for several Midwest and national book awards.
She has also written three poetry chapbooks, including "On the Street Where We Live" (2011), "Tell Me When it Starts to Hurt" (2013) and "The Witness" (2016).
Kelly regularly teaches both fiction and poetry in the metro Detroit area.
