Community Dance at the Harbor

7-9 p.m. July 16, 2015

Caller Jan Fowler and multi-instrumentalist Ron Fowler will lead the live music at this family-friendly all-ages dance under the big tent above Harrisville Harbor on the Thursday between the antiques show and the wine festival.

Come alone, bring a partner or the whole family. $5 per person or $10 for the family. Pay at the event.

All along the shore from Standish to Mackinaw City, special events will be celebrating the Columbus Day holiday.

Inspiration Alcona will offer short painting lessons for kids and adults, as well as cosponsor showings at the Harrisville library of the short film “The Teacher and the Student,” written and produced by Alcona resident Mary Ellen Jones.

Party like it’s 1815 at an all-ages Contra dance, held each month at the Lincoln Senior Center. This easy-to-learn dance style is the original version of modern line and square dances.

Alcona GospelFest

Over 200 people came to sing or listen at this first annual Alcona Gospelfest at Harrisville United Methodist Church. The choir numbered 34, including soloists, plus four musicians and there were 160 people in the audience. Click on the button below to see pictures of what happened.
